Our non-existent blog continues
Just boarded the night train from Chumphon to Bangkok. Whilst on a variety of transport (ferry, bus and now train ) I have been thinking about our non- existent blog today. Why is it so easy for other people to blog but not easy for us? The big issue for us is taking time to get to grips with and up to date with technology. We have an iPad which is wifi only, we have a new iPhone (new to us) which is unlocked but I don’t understand all the data options (in Nepal we bought a data SIM card but then found we couldn’t use it to make a phone call…). Go figure. Now we have a ‘normal’ SIM that seems to work w internet as well as phone but I don’t understand how.
After eating some food at the night market, we found a “quiet” bar to sit in to wait for the train (we had three competing music sources). J was watching last nights football game on the telly and I got bored so I FTimed my sister in Toronto,… now that is the kind of technology I “understand”.
We did use some of our downtime today to write a CV and cover letter for our upcoming ski season. It is so weird writing both after not having had to apply for a job for over 16 years. We are hopeful (but anxious) about applying for jobs. Having our own accomodation is so important to us as we need our downtime and our sleep.
